I see improper use of car safety restraint systems far more often than I would like to admit! From the straps that are to hold it in place being too loose, chest buckles not being in the right spot, to babies being turned forward FAR too soon...I cannot stress enough just how important it is to use your car seats properly!!

Our daughter is 22 months old and WILL remain in her car seat REAR-FACING until the weight limit for rear-facing is reached! Children's bodies are not strong enough to handle the impact of an accident at 20 pounds OR one year old. The sooner you turn your baby around, the more risk you are putting them at for very serious injury in an accident.
I prefer to keep my babies as safe as possible for as long as possible.

Here is yet another example of this importance...my sympathies go out to this family for having to deal with their loss but I am very glad that the baby is alright, due to using their car seat correctly.
